Swimming Lessons - Week 1

Ry started her swimming lessons this week at the Y. Dan asked if he could get in the water, so I obliged. I was really impressed with how cute the class was. It lasted 30 minutes which was the perfect length of time.  Ry was a big unsure about what to make of swim lessons.  She didn't completely mind them, but didn't love them either this week.  The first thing the teacher had them do was pour water on the babes using a watering can.  Ry didn't love this, (even though she loves it during tubby time) and Dan and I both thought her swimming lesson might be over before it even began.  Once they got in the water she relaxed quite a bit. 

11 Things

Hi Guys - Ry here.  Mom said I needed to come up with 11 random facts about me, and then answer 11 questions.

1.  My Mom makes me go shopping. Every.Chance.She.Gets.  I think she just likes to show me off because I'm so cute.  We hardly ever buy anything.
2. I started waking up during the night and crying.  Turns out when I do that I score a bottle.  I love bottles.  Stopping this habit seems silly.
3. Mom and Dad have tried to give me some pretty disgusting foods - apples, bananas, mangoes, pears to name a few.  Now anytime they go to feed me I shut my  mouth really tight so they can only jam a little taste in there.  If it passes the "jam test" I open my mouth to eat the rest.  But ONLY if I like it.
4. I'm waiting until we go on vacation to get some teeth.  I figure it will make vacation extra fun for Mom and Dad.
5. I love Kipu.  She is this big black 4 legged thing that cleans my face when it is messy.  She also has these hangy things near her mouth.  They are super soft and fun to pull on.  
6. Carrots are my favorite food.
7. If Mom or Dad don't shovel food into my mouth fast enough I eat my bib, stick my hands in my mouth and rub it all over my high chair, or just suck on my high chair. I figure they deserve to do some extra cleaning.
8. Bathys are so much fun.  Bonus points if I splash hard enough to get M&D wet.
9. I like to pick things up and put things in my mouth.  (Please use the creepy voice from the planet fitness commercials when you read this.
10. The last three times Mom put "my" music on in the car I started to cry.  I like big girl music.
11. I love to jump.

1. Salty or sweet, which is your snack vice? - Just carrots. 
2. Why did you start blogging? - I don't blog.  My mom is a strange lady and sometimes pretends I talk.  She does this for the dog too. 

3. Who's on your laminated card?Mommy 

4. What's your favorite piece of jewelry? No jewelry for me, but I do love my hair accessories.  Right now my favorite is my gray bow I got from Berkleigh. 

5. What movie can you recite all the lines of? - I don't talk yet.  But I do like Dance Moms. 

6. Favorite childhood memory? - Shopping!  It does get embarrassing though, my Mom ALWAYS talks to me while we shop.  I think people think she is crazy. 

7. Where did you last vacation at?I haven't yet.  Mom and Dad say I can go to Florida soon and ride on an airplane.

8. What blog makes you smile when you read it? My BFF Zoe's.

9. Last concert you went to?I've never been to a concert, but we make our own at home when we have dance parties. 
10. Favorite comfort meal? - Enfamil with a splash of Tri-Vi-Sol 
11. What word/phrase annoys the bejesus out of you? - I'm going to have to agree with Connor, because my Mom isn't smart enough to think of anything better - Nails and snot - those words mean bad things are about to happen to me.

Work Dinner

Dan was supposed to have a work dinner at a pretty nice place, only to be told today the meal was being changed to the Macaroni Grill. Makes it not as nice being away from this cute girl when you are eating at a place that rivals the nearest take out joint in quality.

Leap Day

Back in the Day - when Daddy and Mommy weren't married, didn't own a house, have a little bug, and had much more free time on our hands - was the leap day Marathon. It had been discovered that in 2008 there would be an extra day during the year, which would allow Dan and some of his friends ONE EXTRA DAY before they turned 30.

 Dan, with my help created the "Leap Day Marathon" (and Half Marathon) with 26.2 events to complete over the course of the day/night.  Events included, Ice Skating, Flaming Shots, Messages in a Bottle, Group Pyramids, Egg Tosses and so many more.  My personal favorite was the Jell-o slip and slide - which required hours and days of making and storing Jell-o.  Stacy & I spent the entire week leading up to the event making Jell-o, and I don't know if our kitchens ever recovered.

This was probably one of our last "pre-baby" events with Dan's friends - nothing like going out with a bunch of random ridiculousness.

Wanna Be

While AK took credit for my super cute idea and already posted this picture on FB, which caused her to be compared to both ET and Chucky - all poor Ryann wanted was to be more like her BFF Zoe.  Poor girl just wanted some hair. 

Big Smiles

I'm starting to think I take too many pictures of Ry. The last few times I have pulled out the camera she has become quite the little ham giving big "smiles" for it.  Oh, how I love this girl.

In other news some of my grosser (is that even a word) friends and family will enjoy hearing that Ry had another "first" today.  Today's first - her diaper smelled so bad Daddy decided he needed to spray air freshener.  My stinky little girl!!!
