Mother's Day
We had a very busy Mother's Day Weekend this year. Saturday included swimming lessons, a wedding shower 50 minutes north of us, and a 40th Birthday party (sans Ry) 50 minutes south of us. Thinking back this may have been the longest we left Ryann on a weekend night yet.
Since Grammy and Grampy watched Ry at their house we opted to sleep there Saturday night, which resulted in a breakfast-in-bed-less Mother's Day Morning. (Although I have been assured had we been at our house we would have had breakfast in bed... so maybe next year. :o) ). Ry woke up around 7 so I took her downstairs to say goodbye to Grammy before she left for work. After I gave Ry her bottle Dan came downstairs and told me I could go back to sleep for a few hours. Those two extra hours of sleep were amazing.
Once I was up and dressed we headed out to visit Dan's parents where Ry got to see her cousins. We were eating late and Ry couldn't make it until lunch time so she enjoyed a picnic outside followed by a nice two hour nap.
After lunch we headed over to visit my parent's and Gram. As luck would have it, my Mom had just arrived home from work, and AK was heading out to get ice cream.
Around 5:00 we headed home to celebrate Mother's Day as a family. I arrived home to cards from Dan, Ry, and Kipu, gifts Ry made a school, and a spa gift certificate! The night ended with Ry's normal bedtime routine and her first night in 9-12mo jammies. My little girl is getting so big!

Vacation Journal - Day 3
DAY 3 – BEACH DAY!
Today was another relatively relaxed beach day, with the exception of a slightly cranky Bug. We came to the conclusion last night that we were pretty sure Ry was teething, and it felt like something was coming in. During lunch today we noticed what almost looks like a little slit in her gums where we think the tooth is. I was talking to my Mom and she suggested banging lightly tapping Ry’s gum with a metal spoon, and if it “clinked” it meant a tooth was there, sure enough… CLINK!
Today we started out the day on the beach. When we got down to the beach and set up the tent, it was a little crooked due to Dan’s lack of properly putting it away the day before. We spent all morning relaxing and trying to get Ry to nap. Again, it took another hour plus, but she finally went down. Of course, this was right around when Dan and I were getting overheated and ready to leave. While Ry was sleeping I ran up to Beach Place and bought Ry a big bouncy ball – she’ll never get the opportunity to play with one at home for more than 5 minutes before Kipu pops it. An hour later, Ry was up, and we finally got to leave the beach.
Daddy - It's so embarassing being in a crooked tent |

Up next was another overdue nap for Ryann, it lasted about 30 minutes, and then we hit the pool where Ry loved playing and splashing in the water.

Ry did so much better with her bed time routine tonight. She went down around 8:00 leaving her Mom and Dad waiting around an hour before the start of Deadliest Catch season premier.
