DADDY DAY!!!

Last Friday night, I got home from work to find a very sick wife and daughter.  Both of them were fighting off a flu/cold.  Kate went to the Doc's on Friday night and Ryann had an appointment for Saturday morning.  With Kate out of commission, it was going to be up to me and Kipu to take care of Ry this weekend.  I thought I'd save the memory with a "day in the life" post.

11:30 PM (Friday) - Time for bed.  Sleeping in the "Villa" tonight.  Trying to delay the inevitable of getting what Ry and Kate have.  I don't think Kipu could handle taking care of all three of us.

1:30 AM - Ry's up...Since she has been sick (which seems like forever), the days of her sleeping through the night are gone.  Kipu is not happy about having to get up.  A good 6 ounces of formula for Ry...even snuck in a little Tylenol for her fever.  Poor girl is so stuffy.  The snot sucker is pulling out incredible amounts...I was going to take a picture but figured that would be too gross for the blog OR....

6:30 AM - Another 6 ounces, a nose suck, and right back to sleep.  Back in the comfort of the "Villa", Kipu decides that she needs to go outside...DOH!!

9:10 AM - Kate wakes me up in a haste.  Crap, going to be late for Ry's appointment...Oops!!  Nice to catch up on some sleep though.  Poor Kate is still sick as a dog.

9:33 AM - Out the door...

9:47 AM - Arrive at the Doc's in plenty of time.  A line is forming outside the office...Weird

10:40 AM - Diagnosis:  Another ear infection.  Fever is gone though...99.6

11:02 AM - Back at home with a bagel and iced coffee from DD.  Sick Kate off to bed.  Another bottle for Ry with a treat of Amoxicillin mixed in.

11: 41 AM - Seems like a nice enough day so Kipu and I decided to take Ry for a walk.  When the sun was out and the wind wasn't blowing, it was pretty nice.  We did the full loop, but Ry only napped for the last 15 minutes.

12:45 PM - Played with Ry for a bit and thought she could use a nap.  She let me watch the 1st period of the Bruins game, but then decided nap time was over.  Gotta love DVR!  The medicine may be having an effect on Ry's tummy...

2:02 PM - Happy Ryann played in her jumper while I made her some lunch.  Sweet potatoes..Mmmm!  Kipu picked out the bib, I wore the eating helmet, and Ry scarfed down her food!  Maybe she is starting to feel better...Although still pretty stuffy.

2:30 PM - Tummy time was a bit of a failure, but my girl is getting pretty good at sitting!

3:14 PM - Kate appearance...Dr Dan orders her back to bed.  Although she may be feeling better because she requested a junior bacon cheeseburger.

3:35 PM - Off to Home Depot for a return and Wendy's for some lunch/dinner.  Can't listen to sports radio in case they mention the B's score.  Quite a few compliments of Ry at HD.  I know why Kate likes to take her shopping so much.

4:30 PM - Back with Wendy's...Hope I didn't eat too many of Kate's FFs.

5:20 PM - Ry needs a nap, so I put her down in her crib.

5:21 PM - Ry doesn't think she needs a nap.

5:22 PM - Kate is up....Ry may have woken her.  While we let Ryann cry it out, we try to help Kipu conquer her fear of Horsey.  No luck!

5:28 PM - Ry falls asleep.  Kate back to bed.  Kipu and I sneak outside for a little fetch.  Ry's monitor works outside.

6:00 PM - Got some early Birthday mail from TX.  Turns out they have confetti in San Antonio...GRRR!!!

6: 03 PM - All that running made Kipu pretty hungry.

6:11 PM - Ry's up and she is NOT happy.  Poor lady is so stuffy.  Kate suggests a steam.  A shower sounds good...10 minutes of showering and 10 minutes of laughing at ourselves in the mirror.

6:34 PM - A little oatmeal dinner for Ryann.  She wasn't digging it.  Not even the rally hockey helmet could get her eating.

7:00 PM - BathTime!

7:11 PM - Kate and Kipu get home with formula and Friendly's!  Healthy Eating today!

7:20 PM - Kate chugs some Nyquil and goes to bed for the night.  Poor girl :(  Its killing her not to be able to play with her baby!

7:30 PM - Another bottle for Ryann with a treat of Amoxicillin and Tylenol.  She konked out before finishing...not enough napping today!  I didn't even get to sing her Silent Night or Let It Snow.  Oh well, I'll be seeing her soon enough...Goodnight sweetie!

7:37 PM - We were just saying how long it has been since Kipu "borrowed" one of Ry's pacis.  Jinxed!!  Good Form Kipu!

8:00 PM - Dishwasher is loaded and the laundry is going.  Time to enjoy "Dinner" and watch the rest of the B's game with Kipu.

9:20 PM - Crap...B's lose 2-1.  Hopefully Pats do better tomorrow.

10:30 PM - Another night in the "Villa".  The maid never made the bed...Damn..No Tip!  Tired...Hope Kate and Ry feel better tomorrow.  Don't want to have to DVR the SuperBowl.  Its hockey season!
